Principal’s Message, Term 3, Week 10
Kia ora koutou,
Well it’s the last week of Term and its great news that we are going to Level 1 tonight. I want to say thank you again for everyone’s support and cooperation following the procedures in place at school, and during school drop/pick up. Well done everyone.
I wish you all a safe and happy school holiday break. School finishes as normal on Friday at 2:50pm and recommences 12 October at 8:50am
Labour Weekend – we will have a long weekend, due to COVID and the cancellation of a staff professional development day I have decided to move this day to Friday, 23 October. This will give you a longer weekend if you decide to get away or just need some help with the summer projects.
School will be closed on Friday, 23 October
School Vision Planning – Don’t forget this Wednesday, 23 September at 6pm we are running our second session in the school hall. Come and have your say! The board is currently in the process of reviewing the school vision and direction for the next three years. They would love to have your input into what this would look like for our school and community. Your input is really appreciated. All you need to prepare for this is to come along with ideas. We are asking for no more than 45 minutes of your time.
Lots of Lost Property – Check out the lost property before Friday, there must be $1500 of clothing! Items will be displayed on the ground in the courtyard outside Room 10/11 this week if it’s sunny. Anything left by the end of week will be donated to charity, so please take a look.
New School App – You would have received an email from the office (eTap) last week asking to check your email and contact details we have on file. The reason we need this information is because we are changing to our new school app, @school and want to make sure your details are up to date to ensure you receive our latest updates. Download the app from your google play/apple store today. We will be emailing Login/User ID details later in the week. In @school app you can enter absentee updates direct to the office (similar to the current app) beginning term 4.
There are many other great features we will start using during term 4. If you have any questions contact the office.
Sports – Well done Tannar, who played for the under 13 Horowhenua Rep hockey boys team on the weekend in 5 games, 7 aside 24 mins for the Hardy Cup. Tannar’s team won all 5 games and won the cup!
If you’re interested in finding out more about hockey, head on down to the turf this afternoon to support our Year 5/6 Fairfield team who are playing in the finals at 5:25pm and tomorrow the Year 7/8 team play at 4:45pm. Go teams!
Also please remember to return any sports uniforms (washed/clean) to the office by the end of term. Several sports (touch rugby, twilight soccer) will be starting in term 4 and many children will need a uniform. Thank you.
Summer is coming so don’t forget to bring your hats in Term 4. If you need to purchase one pop into the office ($10 each).
