Principal’s Message Term 3, Week 7

Kia ora koutou,

On Friday last week the school was collecting for Daffodil Day.  This year marked 30 years that this annual fundraising event which sees volunteers take to the streets to raise money, to help provide free and practical support for people with cancer and their whānau, fund cancer research, and deliver information that will help reduce the risk and impact for future generations.

Below is a photo of our students who collected donations at school on Friday.  Thank you to all that contributed. In total we raised $516.30!

Students Works

It was fantastic to have a visit from T.J, Katie and Taylor on Friday. to share their research with me.  They all spoke with knowledge and enthusiasm when they discussed their learning.  It is great to have Fairfield students so enthusiastic in their learning and ready to share with others. Well done.

2021 Enrolments – Year 1 Students

The board would like an expression of interest from families who would like to enroll their children in Year 1 in the 2021 school year.  Please note this is for both out-of-zone and in-zone students.  We are currently working through the structure and organisation of our school for 2021 and this information is very useful for predicting staff and class numbers. If you know of someone; a friend, family member, neighbour or anyone else who may be interested please have them email the school office by Monday 7th September 2020 with the following information; Name of child/children, child’s date of birth, parent/caregiver name, phone number (home/mob) and home address

Community Engagement

A reminder that this Wednesday 2nd September at 6pm in the school hall we will be meeting to discuss the direction of the school. All schools in New Zealand are required to review their school charters on a three year cycle. This will allow community members to engage with the board and principal to reflect on where the school has been and where it is going. Please come and have your say.  The session will last no longer than 45 minutes. What is a school charter?  For more information on the school charter visit

Cyber Safety Meeting with John Parsons
