Principal’s Message Week 2, Term 4

Good afternoon,

Last Friday we had a fantastic turn out to the “Welcome to Fairfield” concert, thank you Puna-oho team.  The children’s performance was outstanding and it was lovely for the parents to come and enjoy.

We had two great disco’s on Thursday night, and I would like to thank the Fairfield Community Group for organising the disco’s, with the help of several senior students, parents and teachers who helped on the night, it was a great success with the school raising raising just under $1400!

Well done Fairfield Fusion who today won their division with some excellent individual placings; Kendall 5th overall, Isabella 7th overall and our 3rd rider, Summer was 3rd overall. 2nd in the turnout class which spanned across competitors from all grades, including college aged riders.

Last Thursday was the NZ Shake out which took place at 9:30am.  The children responded quickly getting under their desks when the earthquake alarm was raised. Some teachers have posted video clips on seesaw to show you of their great response, well done children.

Finally, this Friday school will be closed for instruction as it is a Professional Development Day for the teachers.
We hope you all have a safe and enjoyable extra long Labour weekend.
Regards
Alasdair Maclean

Kia ora,

Welcome back to school for our final term for 2020. Where has the time gone, we certainly have had an interesting year.

This Thursday night we are holding our school discos: junior’s 5:30pm – 6:30pm (movie character theme), and senior’s 7pm – 8:30pm (hero’s v’s villan’s theme). Gold Coin Entry. We will be selling lollies, sausages, glow sticks and ice blocks.

Sports – If you have signed your child up to play sports this term, draws, uniforms and team information will be sent out soon. We still need helpers for some of the Touch Rugby and Soccer teams. If you can help please let Jim Culley know ASAP jculley@fairfieldlevin.school.nz or we will have to withdraw some teams.

Sunhats – Please make sure you send your children to school with a sunhat this term (wide brim/bucket style). Sunhats can be purchased from the Office $10.

Just a reminder that on Friday 23 October school is closed for instruction as it is a Teachers’ Professional Development Day. We hope you can use this time to enjoy an extra long Labour Weekend (with school also closed Monday 26).
