Peer Assessment is a powerful form of assessment, where a student uses pre-determined criteria to assess another’s learning. Here is an example of two Year 5 students using our Learning Progressions to assess their writing. Fantastic!
During Term 2, our Year 5 dyad (named High Fives) have been following their own interests of learning. Interest groups included; cooking, gaming, photography and filming. The filming group created a promotional video about our school and they have done an excellent job.
Our Year 5 classes are currently working on their Inquiry Interest Projects. Luke and Taylor are learning about coding and electronics, which is related to STEM learning. STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
With their project, Luke and Taylor have made a nightlight, which required them to code the electronics to make the light work and then build the base of the nightlight.
