Principal’s Message Term 4, Week 8
Kia ora koutou,
We had a positive visit by the Education Review Office (ERO) last week; They affirmed all the great things we do at Fairfield School and gave us three recommendations to work on. The recommendations were tweaks to things we are already doing, really moving from good to great in those areas. The final report will not be complete for another month. When the final report is shared with the school, I will share this with you on line. At this stage, we can all be very proud of our school.
The last day of school for this year is Wednesday, 18 December, all students will be released from school at 12:30 pm. Let the summer fun begin!

The Fairfield School Board of Trustees made a decision at their meeting that we will be opting into the government’s donation scheme for 2020. This means that there will no longer be a recommended school donation and course contributions for things such as workbooks, day trips, or other compulsory curriculum resources.
Families will still need to make payment for trips that involve an overnight component.
Optional / Extracurricular activities will remain as chargeable items. Families will need to make payment for the following:
• Sports exchanges
• Sports teams
• School camps
• School magazine
• Cultural activities e.g. ShowQuest, RockQuest etc
The Board would like to thank you for your continued support for Fairfield School. If you have any further questions in relation to this announcement, please do not hesitate to contact the Principal, Alasdair Maclean, on firstname.lastname@example.org
Your School Needs You
We are very sad to be losing the services of one of our fantastic cleaning team and are looking to find someone in our school community who is interested in picking up 10 hours cleaning per week. The cleaning is done from 6am to 8am with another of our cleaning team, Monday to Friday and extra cleaning (12-15 hours) done by arrangement in the school holiday break.
If you are interested please apply in writing to the Principal at Fairfield School, 89 MacArthur Street Levin, or ring the school office to speak with the principal.
